Papi Epic Tested My Patience

This week was supposed to be one of those BIG Fortnite weeks.

With the new season arriving and all the hype surrounding the Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration, new POIs, and Sonic himself making his way into Fortnite, the anticipation was crazy. Me and the ALG community were waiting to see what Epic had cooked up for us.

Thursday, August 20th finally came.

The update dropped.

We loaded up.

We were ready.

And then…

PAPI EPIC, WHAT DID YOU DO?! 😂

What was supposed to be an amazing start to the new season quickly turned into failure… after failure… after FAILURE.

The weapon pool felt like one of the weakest we’ve had in a long time. On top of that, it felt like every lobby was filled with the sweatiest Fortnite players known to mankind. We couldn’t figure out the meta. We couldn’t figure out what weapons were actually worth carrying. We couldn’t figure out what was going on at all.

We were just getting COOKED. 😂

It got so intense that eventually I had enough. I rage quit and ended the stream without even explaining why.

Now, if you were wondering exactly what pushed me over the edge…

Just watch the video below.

That should explain everything. 😂

After all that excitement and anticipation, the new season felt like a terrible downfall.

The next day, I knew I needed to get away from Fortnite for a little while. I relaxed, touched some grass, and gave myself a break. I eventually got back on later that night and played a few games offline, thinking maybe things would feel different without being live.

Nope.

Papi Epic was STILL testing me.

The game was still making everything difficult, and by the end of it I was completely drained.

By Saturday, I told myself I wasn't streaming.

I was DONE with the new season.

So instead of sitting in front of Fortnite losing my mind again, I went out with the family, touched some more grass, and just enjoyed the day.

But eventually I started thinking…

You know what? I'm gonna stream.

I'm going to get on Fortnite, accept whatever this game has become, and deal with whatever Papi Epic decides to throw at me. 😂

And surprisingly, that decision completely changed the rest of the weekend.

I got on stream with a different mindset. Instead of getting frustrated trying to force wins or worrying about figuring out the perfect meta, I just let things be what they were.

And the ALG community made it FUN.

We laughed. We joked. We had some crazy moments. We came extremely close to getting multiple dubs, even though we kept falling a little short.

But honestly?

The vibes were there.

And that reminded me of something important.

Sometimes it's not necessarily the game that makes a stream great.

It's the people you're experiencing it with.

Fortnite might have been getting on every last nerve I had this week, but ALG still found a way to turn it into a good time. Once I changed my mindset and stopped allowing the game to control my mood, I started enjoying myself again.

That's what this community continues to show me.

Through the wins, the losses, the rage quits, the terrible loot, the sweaty lobbies, and whatever else Papi Epic decides to throw at us…

ALG still finds a way to make it a vibe.

So thank you to everybody in the ALG community who came through this week and made these streams enjoyable regardless of how I personally feel about the direction Fortnite has taken this season.

Hopefully Papi Epic hears our cries and fixes some of these issues ASAP.

Because if not…

I'm going to fly kick a zebra directly into the multiverse so hard that it somehow ends up in Doomsday standing next to Doom and the rest of the Avengers.

Don't ask me how.

Just know it's Papi Epic's fault. 😂

Until next time…

ALG 4 LIFE. ❤️

At the end of the day, it's all love.
